Like an R1® with extra grit, Patagonia's TechFace Hoody maintains fleece-like comfort while extending itself into scrappy days on rock, snow and ice. The stretchy, lightweight double-weave fabric (partially recycled polyester, with spandex) offers significantly more wind resistance and durability than Patagonia's traditional R1®, and its articulated pattern further encourages a full range of mountain mobility. An under-the-helmet hood with laminated visor provides low-profile coverage and visibility through shoulder-season squalls. Detailing includes a pair of high, zippered handwarmer pockets (with venting mesh), an external zippered left-chest pocket and Patagonia's sleek, low-bulk, easy push-up stretch-knit Variable Conditions Cuffs. The adjustable hem snugs via cords routed through the pockets, and the DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds excess moisture. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

Simply the best, better than all the rest review by Patagonia Burlington Staff - sierranevada on 1/10/2021Purchased a few weeks ago, and this is my favorite layer for alpine touring. It is what I wear for uphill travel, The hood allows me to regulate my temperature as I go with less fumbling than a winter hat. I love the longer length, as it covers me during all movements and decreases the risk of accidentally exposing my low back to the elements. I'll swap over to my down sweater hoody at the top, and when I'm at the bottom and ready for a second lap the R1 techface hoody warms me right up again before I get going continuing to regulate my temperature throughout. The price is a little high up front, but with the lifetime warranty it is totally worth it. Definitely a centerpiece of my alpine touring, and most likely hiking/biking come spring.

The R1 Techface Hoody is amazing -- I wear it to backcountry ski tour, mountain bike, hike, run, whatever. It's breathable enough to let my sweat evaporate and extra heat to dissipate, but wind-blocking and warm enough to cut the chill and keep me happy. The big hood is a plus as it will fit over my mountain bike or ski helmet, and is a nice alternative to sweating through my beanie on the uphills.

Patagonia Burlington currently ships items to all 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. We also ship to Military APO / FPO addresses.
If your order meets or exceeds the amount advertised on the website, you qualify for free shipping. Choose the FREE delivery option (up to 10 business days) at checkout. This offer is valid for orders shipped to addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. The Free shipping option is not valid for orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or anywhere else outside of the lower 48 states. Free shipping orders will be shipped by the most appropriate method based on their physical size and destination.
2-Day Delivery to Alaska and Hawaii may take three days. Next-Day Delivery is available only in the continental US. Next-Day Delivery to Alaska and Hawaii may take an additional 1-2 days.
All shipping methods do not deliver on weekends, but the on business days (Mon-Fri).
We currently do not ship to International addresses.
